Bank Holiday Steeple Chase Confirmed

Tonbridge & Malling Council have today confirmed that the Bank Holiday steeple chase, to be hosted on Kings Hill shall be going ahead - Monday 7th May 4:15pm.

"We we're slightly worried the new road would not be completed on time, and that was the only reason we were in doubt. Now that it's open, thankfully we will go ahead with the steeple chase as planned" said Mr McCririck.

The race already has some well known names signed up, but there's still plenty more spaces for those that want to get involved. Comment on the post to confirm your entry and you'll receive your Race name by return.

The race itself is going to take place on the newly opened road 'PRECA' (Prince Roderick Emu Charles Avenue) which was designed, with the annual steeple chase in mind with it's cleverly engineered block paving representing Grand National Horse jumps.

Motorists have already started to notice the abnormal height of each block pave border as their cars not only rumble over them but, feel more like they've run over a small garden wall.

One local suggested to drop tyre pressures down to 28 PSI where they're nice and flat, enough to absorb the thudding through and therefore preventing a spinal injury. Although the downside is tyres will likely need replacing around 5000 miles earlier than normal.

Alas, the road with extremely high paving borders is PERFECT for a steeple chase and here are some of the contestants relishing the challenge for Monday:-

11/1 Emu's Summit
